WHY ORGANIC OILS?
As many of you may know very well, all the essential oils we offer to you as HUDOT are organic. This is something we are very happy and proud of. So what is the difference between organic and non-organic essential oils? Why should we prefer organic essential oils?
Plants produce essential oils to protect themselves from temperature changes and pest infestations, to attract pollinators and reproduce, to communicate, to heal their wounds, and to continue to exist in a way. We also include these fragrant oils, which we obtain from the parts of plants containing essential oils through methods such as distillation and cold pressing, into our lives with the intention of providing and protecting our Spirit-Body-Mind balance.
Organic essential oils are obtained from plants grown in organic farming that have not been affected by pesticides (chemicals used to kill pests), chemical fertilizers, genetically modified organisms, antibiotics and growth hormones throughout the entire growth process. Organic farming is a holistic agricultural system designed for sustainability and aims to create a harmonious ecosystem to coexist with nature.
We frequently use essential oils in our daily lives with the intention of adding the power and spirit of plants to ourselves, our souls, our bodies with gratitude and appreciation and becoming one with them. They are strong in their natural and organic environments. Just think, if that plant, that tree is not invaded by an insect, if it is sprayed to prevent fungi from growing on its trunk and leaves, if it does not struggle to exist in its natural environment on its own, the essential oils it secretes will neither smell as nice nor be as effective. If only they would only smell lighter and have less effect... For example, citrus essential oils are obtained by cold pressing the peels of their fruits. Studies have proven that pesticides that cannot be removed from the peels are found in much higher amounts in essential oils than the value range found acceptable by the European Pharmacopoeia. It has been observed that this value is high in some of the essential oils obtained by distillation*. This means that when we use a non-organic essential oil, we are very likely to be exposed to high amounts of chemicals...
